Negative thoughts are more on repeat in our minds than positive ones but why is that? Because embracing the negative moments in our lives is what keeps us real and let's face it apart of life. An average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. The resulting negative emotions are motivators to drive us to change.
My favorite way to look at things is thinking about a kite. The objective of flying a kite is to keep it flying in the sky, the more you run and let go of some string, the higher the altitude the kite flies. If we redirect those self-doubting thoughts like the kite, we can let go and allow the negativity to be looked at a different altitude. Negative thinking can be the tool that allows us to carefully assess a situation and decide to make a change.
